fonts look jagged in Preview

I designed some business cards using Pages that I thought looked really great. However, when I saved the document in a PDF and opened it in Preview, the fonts looked really jagged. The fonts continue to look smooth in Pages, but something seems to be happening when I open the PDF in Preview. Does anyone know what might be going on or how I can correct it?

I want to send the PDF to the printer, but I'm worried that the printer will get the version with the jagged fonts.
