New to the board....

I am looking for something so simple I'm shocked I can't readily find it. Basically as a musician it would be really great if there was a very simple plug and play foot controller that took over some of the keyboard functions.

In particular I would like to press a pad with my foot and have it operate as a pause/start or stop/play that would control ITunes or YouTube. At present I hit the space bar or F8 button.

However I want to be able to do it with my feet so I can navigate quickly without taking my hands off a guitar neck.

It appears Pedable makes such a thing but it is only compatable with Windows. Express scribe and Infinity USB2 have something like that but you you have to load the files into the ExpressScribe file and it doesn't pause a Youtube video.

Any help would be appreciated.

Use a USB MIDI foot controller + ControllerMate software to map your keys. The driver part is not easy to do but it does exactly what you want it to.

The X-Tempo pok is a wireless USB foot-operated keyboard emulator. You can store strings of up to 4 keystrokes, including Shift, Ctrl etc. into any of the pedal buttons and it "type" the strings to your computer. Works with Windows and Apple OSX. You can see it at www.xtempozone.com :)
