Filming resumed today on the second season of "For All Mankind," despite the ongoing pandemic, reports Deadline.

When filming was halted in mid-March on almost all TV shows and movies, the cast of "For All Mankind" had two episodes left to shoot from the season two order.

"For All Mankind" was one of the Apple TV+ debut shows that launched last November, and with filming underway, it could be one of the first shows to have a second season premiere. Apple has renewed all of its launch shows for a second season, including "See," "Dickinson," and "The Morning Show."

The show is being filmed on the Sony lot in Culver City, as Sony Pictures TV has been working to return scripted series to production with safety precautions in place.

Created by Ronald D. Moore, "For All Mankind" is a sci-fi series that imagines what the world might have been like if the global space race had never ended and the space program had remained a priority. The story is told through the lives of NASA astronauts and engineers, along with their families.

The show stars Joel Kinnaman, Michael Dorman, Wrenn Schmidt, Shantel VanSanten, Sarah Jones, and Jodi Balfour.

true story: they are actually filming it on the moon, so no corona virus issues.

Prompts the question... what will be the first actual scripted show done on the moon?

NASA has started awarding SpaceX money to deliver people and cargo to the moon by 2024 with Starship. It can carry 100 people and cargo to the surface for ~$15M, and they don't really need 100 people on set to make a show, so they could carry a lot fewer than that and sell the other seats to other people/organizations.

If For All Mankind or Space Force lasts long enough, it seems plausible that they could have a 7th season where an episode is actually shot on the moon. The moon is a kind of mundane place for other sci-fi space* shows like Star Trek, Orville, or The Expanse to take place.

*Can't call them sci-fi anymore if they could realistically happen.

I like this show and love Mythic Quest. Looking forward to season two as long as they can do it safely. Would be neat if their alternate reality timeline had to deal with a pandemic as well and what would happen if that were on a large base on the Moon or Mars or some large space station facility. It seems like the pace of the show is a lot faster than realtime so they'll probably be caught up to modern times in a couple seasons and since the premise seems to be an accelerated technological timeline, that seems very possible.

don't know much about the show (is it about jeans?), but the crew sure looks like they are dressed to survive any pandemic.

First season was pretty good. I enjoyed it but don’t feel like I need to recommend it to people. Curious to see how the cliff hanger ending is handled from season 1.

I like Sciene (fiction).

One day, in 2320, Earth will face its fierest enemy. An Alien threat. A life form from outer space, that we don't fully understand, organised like insects, more like horrifying giant bugs, will invade the outskirts of our solar system. Our colonies on Titan, Europa and Enceladus will be annihilated. The final battle will take place between Jupiter and Mars, where our Space Marines and their fleet of battleships and starfighters will defeat the monsters for good. This day will be remembered, just like December 20th 2019.

People will remember this date, and they will think: "Thank You, Donald Trump, for creating the Space Force! You paved the way to the survival of the human race..."

Just kidding ... ???

My fav show of the original releases. I see the potential of this show going on for many seasons. At some point, they’ll go into the future and the first few seasons will in retrospect be viewed as prequels to what could potentially be the beginning of a sci-fi cult classic.

Very good show and all the technical detail is so well done.
Errr... we seem to have been watching different shows as far as technical details go! Still, it's fiction, so go ahead and refuel that CSM in orbit... more Kerbalspace than NASA!

I don't know exactly what's wrong with refuelling in orbit. But, I know how you feel, when you have special knowledge of something and the writers pull some **** out of their ass. Like 4th of July coming up with a virus for an alien computer systems no one had ever seen. But I was more referring to all the equipment and setup that was being shown, like the pilot training module etc. which I really haven't seen so well done in previous tv shows.
