Hello,

Thanks for all the help previously on various problems; I'd really be lost without you folks.

Had a quite old Brother laser printer which always worked great.
Stopped printing, and could not get it going again.
Kept cycling between Paused and Resume, and nothing worked in trying to
get it to print. So, I figured it was the printer, being somewhat old, and I just bought a
new Brother HL L2300D. Same problem, so it's probably a safe bet that it is
not a printer problem, per se, but something in the iMac.
(Running vers 10.13.5 High Sierra)

I have downloaded and installed the latest Driver package from the Brother site.
The printer does seem to be recognized but when told to print; just won't.

Three icons (usually) come up in the pane where you select the printer:
HL L2300D
HL L2300D Series 1
HL L2300D Series 2

So, I guess the first question is what are the differences, and which do I want to select ?

I think I've tried just about everything imaginable, but obviously I'm missing something ?
Probably something "simple," but just can't find it.
Also, tried new cables, different Ports, etc.

Would sure appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,
Bob

From OP:

Let me add this also.
I am using Parallels.

When on the Windows side, I have no trouble printing.

I had this exact problem with the HP DeskJet 2652. The issue is that the iMac gets confused by the 3 printers. Perform the following to resolve the issue:

go to the Apple Menu > System Preferences > Printers and Scanners. Then right click on any of the printers available, and select "Reset Printing System". Next, go to print a document on Pages or Word, and "Add Printer" and you will be able to add the HL 2300D and print your documents.

This will clean up the confusion for the iMac, and you will be able to print without an issue.
