For background, I have had a 12.9” iPad Pro for a couple of years, often paired with either the Smart Keyboard Folio or the Magic Keyboard. That iPad was super critical for me, especially when I was working from home. However, I have just started to take my iPad 8th gen to the office with me as a work companion - I am really liking the smaller footprint and lighter weight of this combo again. This kind of makes me reconsider my position regarding the 11” vs 12.9” debate - for daily carrying, the 11” probably has a big advantage. For home use, especially with multitasking, 12.9” is super useful. YMMV.

Did you have the 1st gen 12.9" model or the 2nd gen 12.9" model?

Given that you mentioned a folio and 2018 with regards to your 12.9 I am guessing that it is a 3rd gen. Would you say that your preference for the smaller device is primarily the physical length/width, the weight or both somewhat equally?

Having an older generation Pro with the edge attached version of smart keyboard I sometimes wonder if I will strongly dislike the newer folio design. So I am just wondering if the added thickness of the folio factors into your impressions at all.
