for iphone 4, i was able to log in to it and order it at the same time it was supposed to be available. i found my checkout a lot smoother. i got my phone day before launch day too :)

and not sure why, but i'm eligible for upgrade this year too. so all in all, great experience through premier.

Generally it was last year, albeit with some hiccups for some people.

What will happen this year is anyone's guess.

*IF* they do preorders, it will be on the Apple website and probably many carrier websites as well. Country by country availability is a big question mark; the keynote today should say when whatever is released will be available in which countries, as well as whether they will do preorders.

Is this "Fast Purchase" option you are referring to for the AT&T Wireless website or the Apple website?

It's on Apple's website. Go to the website> Store> Account> Update Express Checkout settings> Sign in> Make sure your account info is correct and turn it on at the bottom
 
When do we expect pre-ordering to be available? How long before the actual release date does it usually open up? Not on the day of the announcement (i.e., today), right?
 
Good post. I just dont feel like the iPhone 4S is going to be that hard to get in the first couple of days. I know im not buying one...

In a few days most likely.
 
Is it absolutely necessary that your Apple shipping address matches your credit card billing address?

I have my billing address sent to my house, but I'm currently living on a college campus. I was planning on having it shipped to the campus instead of home as that will be a large inconvenience.

I'm wondering that too. I have had previous apple products shipped to my college. Is it different for pre-orders?
 
Make sure your current bill is paid in full. I stayed up to preorder Vz iPhone 4 and had to wait because my last payment did not process correctly and the current bill has to be zeroed out.

Thanks for the information. I just logged in to our ATT Premier website and guess what??

I don't see any Apple product as option to order new or as Upgrade. So I dont see any iphone 4 to order on premier website.

I talked to Premier support and they make me check my setting on site, which says Apple products are available for order on our Premier website but in premier store..I don't see any iPhone.

So They open the trouble ticket for their I.T. staff to look in to it and fix it.

I am glad i checked today..so I don't have problem next week or so...

I hope they fix their website for us SOON...
 
Wait so if your billing address is in Northern California, it's going to very hard to get it shipped initially to Southern California?

I actually have a FAN discount for ATT but technically, I shouldn't anymore because I don't work for the company that enabled it anymore. I should take that off when I upgrade, right?

Yes. Part of the keynote today should include when they will be available to preorder.
 
Does anyone know how to handle ordering two phones both on the same family plan that are both eligible for an upgrade?? Will I be able to just order two phones or do they limit one per transaction?? Will I be better off going through apple or at&t if I need two?

Just when I was about to Update my account info I get this!

"We are busy updating the store for you and will be back shortly"
 
If you are using a family members upgrade and they are the same family plan, how would you do this when pre ordering? First time pre ordering, thanks for all the helpful tips!
 
Do you suppose id have the same experience shipping wise if i go through Verizon. I'd like to get it on the 14th at the latest but would prefer to go through Verizon since its much closer to me than an apple store. In case any problems occur with my order its quicker to get to Verizon I mean.
