I have been avidly following, and occasionally partaking in, this forum for the last couple of weeks, having gone from being absolutely convinced prior to the launch that I would get one (to the extent of attempting to order it from overseas in the first minute it went on pre-order, which would have ended up costing me probably over $5k once all charges were included, only to be thwarted by Apple's refusal to ship to my freight forwarding company of choice), to "hmm, not so convinced by these influencer reviews on YouTube", to "oh no way I am getting this given the poor feedback on this forum, damn I certainly dodged a bullet there".

But I'm now 100% convinced that I will - availability allowing when I visit the US later this month or early next - get one, and cannot wait.

And this is the video that sold it to me. A video from a guy who has a huge amount of experience with "VR" headsets and their development progress over the last decade or so, and who flew to the US to buy one for himself. He touches on pretty much every issue that has been raised here, but crucially, sets it in the context of what has come before the Vision Pro.

I highly recommend watching this video.

fun review.. thanks for sharing. I have logged 12 hours with mine and agree with most of his comments. One thing I think most of the reviews gloss over, except perhaps the verge one, is the occasional lag of the device. Maybe this is a software thing, but for example when I hook up a Magic Keyboard (almost required for replying to email and MR comments), is that I can often type faster than the buffer. Haven't had that issue in forever. Even the visual control sometimes seems to lag. This review mentions the non precision for gaming, it's that and lag. And I find I have to almost retrain myself in how to do gestures, like I had to retrain myself to enunciate more clearly for Siri. I have to be more deliberate with my eye focus. I tend to be looking around a lot. that doesn't work well for trying to select things with the AVP. the other thing is I have to be deliberate with my finger gestures. I tend to move my fingers a lot and it sometimes missing a click or a grab. But it's all good, I am already productive with mine and no doubt will get used to its rhythm. it's definitely a first gen product. But the most fun I have had with a computing device in a long time. I actually have to force myself to put it down. And sitting here at work with my three screen set up, yes I have the windows, but I cant easily change what my monitors are blocking. There is something absolutely intoxicating and freeing to simply move these big windows all around us in virtual space. Anyway, don't let the haters steer you away, you seem to be an early adopter sort. Most of the people in these forums made up their minds for whatever reasons months ago, and are just seeking to justify those notions, refusing to have them challenged or even to go in to a store for a demo to see for themselves. Do read up with people on people that have actually used them, and was interested in seeing how they work, not interested in finding reasons to return.
