No absolutely not. Very little difference. Sort of regretting my decision to upgrade. B

Even for the camera quality and features, it's hard to tell the difference unless you go looking for it.

Once the main camera went 48MP, you have to start pixel peeping or doing detailed side by side comparisons to notice.

Basic functions have remained the same for multiple iPhones now. Apple and other MFGs are struggling to introduce something trull new. Until them the "island" and camera control button are it.

I'm really enjoying the 14PM and I hope to have it for many years.

As already mentioned, the weight of the 16PM does help to hold it more comfortably.

If Apple's statement that batteries from 15PM "hold" up to 1000 charge cycles without degradation is true, it would make sense to buy it in case you 14PM is very bad battery, that there are several documented cases in this same forum or on social networks.

You wouldn’t notice a difference for most everyday stuff even coming from an iPhone 12.

Pretty much this.

I do, however, still enjoy yearly upgrades. These are minor things, of course. USB-C is nice. 15->16 the screen dimensions grew without compromising on size as much.

The "biggest" selling point - camera control - is useless in my opinion and definitely see it go away with the likes of Touchbar and Butterfly keyboards.

Honestly, I see much more potential in software upgrades, which seem to always be just 6-12 months away. Basic iOS layout is outdated and never really gained support for larger screens.

The 15/16s are more comfortable to hold IMO. Slightly rounded edges and weight reduction make a huge difference. The titanium finishes also smudge less than the stainless steel did. Granted - these differences are entirely subjective!
I was in store today for something else, but took my first look at the 16 range. Compared to my 14 they felt much better in hand since I don't use cases, the slight rounded edge improves usability. I even felt like I might try the Max size when the 17 rolls round next year.

Camera control needs to be positioned further down for my small hands.

In terms of performance/features, I'm more than happy with the 14 still.

Still enjoying my 14 pro max myself. Just not quite tempted away from it yet, see what the 17 has going for it next year. This will be the longest ive held onto a phone for lol
What about the battery health? On my previous 14 PM, a phone I loved, it was down to 81% after less than two years. Something never experienced on any iPhone previously.
That’s what drove me to upgrade to a 16 PM (plus a good swap in deal from Apple instead of replacing my 14 PM battery)

I’m one of many who experience horrible battery life on my 15PM. I’ve had mine since launch day and have a battery life of 85% with 472 charging cycles. I will say that I regret buying the 15PM over the 14PM for reasons other than the battery life.

for most everyday stuff, can you tell the difference between 16PM and 14PM?

I have a 14 PM. I almost made a “panic buy” because of the possible tariffs being promised by our new administration.
Spent a lot of time comparing the 14 PM to the 16 PM, but there’s just not anything worthwhile to get me to upgrade.
The 5x telephoto “could” be useful it if it wasn’t a lousy 12mp. I can just screw on my ProCam 2x telephoto over the 3x, and effectively have a 6x 12mp telephoto.
I’ll wait for the 17 PM and take the hit on increased cost.

I suppose the battery health on my 15PM is average. 159 cycles and 99%. Battery life on a daily basis is good, imo. I’ve had it for a year.

I have a mix of stuff enabled and disabled. But overall I’ve never experienced any real unexpected battery drain.

I won’t say that every 15PM has a bad battery, but I truly believe that the difference between a 14PM vs 16PM for everyday use is negligible besides AI.
