I know, I had one.

The only reason Apple replaced it with a trackpad is because people spilled coke, food and other debris in it. Rendering it in need of a cleaning. Which on this laptop was very easy. A twist of the collar that holds it in place, a simple removal and cleanup of the area that was not open to the rest of the computer. Problem solved.
