The 13" MBA will do very well for her. Its lightning fast and ultra portable. She should be very happy with it its all around just a fantastic machine. The only thing I would pick up is an external optical drive which can be had for under $80. Also the MBA will power an external display flawlessly.

U mean for CDROM or DVd rom/ burning?

Yes the macbook air does not come with a built in superdrive, so you will need to pick up an USB one for around 80$ from apple.

It can be used for both depending which one you go with. Apple makes a nice one for $99 that is aluminum and designed like the Air so it matches it nicely and its a super drive so it does it all CD/DVD burn, etc etc. Its not a bad price as its a nice product for the money.

I totally got bailed out on the air..... She found out by reading this thread I left open and said if I'm going to spend $1000+ that it better be on her wedding band for next year, so I did, and new dining room table, and so on and so forth....

Anyone elses wife "iron" clothes on a glass table?:confused:

Ya.... She's all mine......

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4s: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

I would say MacBook pro. Being a teacher access to a DVD drive could be of some advantage.

lol.

just out of interest, was she more keen on an 11" or 13" model? :D

She would've been happy with either, both are tiny, the 13" offers a bit more as far as HD space.

Good evening/morning,

Want to surprise the wife with something portable & light for our anniversary in march.

She uses computers heavily for school (typing essays) or her work, Internet, etc, easy stuff....

The dell I got her last year freezes constantly & I feel guilty, even tho she loves the pink ;) (sarcasm)

Thanks.

something between 6" and 9" should satisfy ;)
surprises my wife every time …

Perfect Match

The MacBook Air would more than suffice for her. I use mine for even heavier stuff (wildlife photography, some iMovie editing).... it'll do wonders for her. You may want to buy a MacBook Air superdrive if she has a lot of DVD's or CD's (loading programs or projects.) Apple sums it up perfectly. "If a computer is thin and light enough to carry with you wherever you go, then it should be powerful enough to handle everything you do"

Happy Anniversary!

My general rule on gift giving is to never buy women electronics. Most women, at least in my experience, would rather get something else.

So this thread came in handy after all. :D The important thing is that she got what she wanted, right?

Anyway, doesn't she already have a wedding band?

This is usually true, but some women are different. The user pdot comes to mind.
