I was thinking, you hear soooo much from people who don’t like thicc camera bumps. This this, it’s ugly that, it doesn’t fit in my pockets etc.

Well, this thread is for those of us who like em thicc, we don’t care about it being thin, we like curves, we like our pictures to be the utmost quality, and if the camera bump has to look like it was designed by Sir Mix-a-Lot than so be it.

So tell me and the world, what could be done with the iPhone camera system if Apple didn’t need to worry about the phone getting much thicker? What kind of sensors and lenses could they slap on the derrière of this thing if they could let’s say, make the camera bump protrude another half inch or so? I’ve always wondered if it would be posssible to squeeze something like a APS-C size sensor, and like a 14 mil pancake lens on the back of the phone. Of course you’d only have one focal length but it would be unbeatable in image quality! A24E2448-C960-4BDD-A907-4B53C58D0712.jpeg

Seeing that photo just makes me wish the iPhone cameras were more like attachable camera lens modules. Those of us who want a crazy phone camera can snap one on, those of us who want less bulk could just leave it off

Seek and ye shall find…

That pic is too much! 😂 That said, I have always liked the camera bump though: like how it looks, like how it makes the iPhone stand out, like how it sits on a flat surface, etc.

Design wise It’s the ugliest thing on a device. Sadly locked in the eco system so gotta live with it. google pixel 7 has a nice way of making it work. Apple just blew it or got lazy with the design. its like a giant ZIT on a nice face lol.

I was worried about the bump on the 14PM and held off for a while before purchasing one a couple of weeks ago. With the Apple leather case I've found my concerns overblown. The phone does not lay completely flat on a table top, but it's close enough. And I'm really enjoying the new phone (came from an iPhone 12 Pro).

I tend to keep my phones for a long time. Coming from an iPhone X the iPhone 14 Pro Max is a huge step up with internals. The Hideous Camera Bump is just that hideous. Yes the iPhone X had a camera bump, but it wasn't too obnoxious looking. The one we have now is just stupid looking. I mean look at it LOL! If Apple comes out with a new Phone Pro Max with a better camera layout or flush design, I won't wait like my iPhone X to trade this 14PM Monstrosity.

I think Apple is going to attempt to shrink the camera bump to be more like the iPhone X in terms of being compact and usable without lowering quality of the photos.
