What's you're plans?, are you going to camp out at Apple or other retailers, what time do you think you're going to show up? I myself did not reserve and am trying to pick up a 16gb in black without a reserve around 3 or 4 a.m, Apple opens at 7 a.m

im waiting for the white...but i am only going to wait for so long! i will only give it like 2 weeks max before a break down and get the black
I'm holding out for the white. "Second half of July" isn't too long of a wait. Plus, a lot of the buzz will be gone by then, so it'll be easier to walk into an Apple store and buy it.

Personally I was lucky enough to reserve a phone for in-store pickup. That being said, I'm showing up at around 5:30 or so, mostly because there aren't many apple stores near me and this apple store is 'the' apple store for several towns in a fairly large radius. Honestly, it all depends on your store. I would head over there sometime today and ask them about prior launches to get a feeling of how much activity your store gets on launch days. Information about other stores (including the info I gave you about my own, now that I think about it...) is more or less irrelevant to your own personal situation. I would think that 3 or 4 AM (a big window mind you there when talking about these launch days) would put you somewhere near the front of the 'middle' portion of the line.

I plan on waking up at 3, and head over there, the place opens at 7 a.m, and I camped out for a 360 and wii on launch so i'll do it.
anyone trying the secondary retailers? BB, Radio Shack, At&t? In prior releases att had much shorter lines than apple.

Is anyone apple store at a a mall? How would you do that? Camp outside the doors by the mall then run to the apple store when doors open?
thats what i'm confused about, my mall opens at 6 a.m I believe or they open the doors around then.
My apple store is at a mall. There is a certain door that everyone lines up at. They open just that door at 6:30 and an apple employee escorts the line to make sure its orderly and people arrive at the store the same way they were lined up outside.

I'm not camping out. I know I won't be getting one on launch day, but hopefully after the initial rush dies down, I'll be able to reserve one for pick up in-store, or, even better, just be able to walk in and buy one. I can't wait to check em out on display tomorrow 😀
I'm going to see what the situation looks like after the mall closes tonight. If there isn't a huge crowd, i'll go home and check back in an hour or two. rinse and repeat till i see a few people, then i'll jump in.

Waiting for white.
I've been using the original iPhone for the past 3 years, with it lagging and its battery dying for over a year now. I skipped the 3G and 3GS because I didn't feel like they were enough of an upgrade. I've waited this long, but the next 3-4 weeks will be agony.

My Network wont be getting the iPhone until mid July anyway so I'm happy to wait, should mean I get a chance to see what the white phone looks like next to the black one. Also we might also know whats going on with all this dropped call business due to a badly placed antenna
