I recently had to return mine due to this issue but after reading a thread here...

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1397887/

I've noticed that you can look at the model of the screen, so I'm wondering for those who do not have the issue to post which one you have as shown...

Under Displays - Color, make sure Color LCD is selected and click Open Profile. Then see the info under #17.

my first macbook had A00E and ghosting.

my replacement has A00F no ghosting. also it appears to have a more uniform backlight.

Also the next question I would like to ask is when your Macbook was built, enter your serial here in the link

http://www.appleserialnumberinfo.com/Desktop/index.php

Enter it into the search and hit enter and what I'm looking for is the production date of your Macbook.

Maybe it can help determine if the problem has gone away and if really was a bad batch via the difference in screen model and the date that it was built. Or it can determine that it really is the luck of the draw! Also if you don't mind posting the day that you got your Macbook.

I've got an A00E and I saw ghosting once for a split second when I was changing screen modes when the screen went blue (may have also been a random graphics glitch) but haven't seen it again under normal usage. Oddly enough, using either the site you listed or chipmunk.nl gives no info about when mine was built, besides the factory code (C0 like probably everyone else).

My first was A00F and it had absolutely no ghosting ever. Built mid June if I recall correctly.

Nice to see some hard facts :) Hopefully this becomes a helpful thread. In the mean time I am stuck waiting on mine still :)

A00E no ghosting and have checked a few times for ghosting.
I do have a purple logo though :D

Where do I find information about week?

A00E built Week 23 (June) and I bought it the day after WWDC at 10:30 AM. No ghosting what-so-ever.

A00F, light bleed in top right corner and severely apparent ghosting, confirmed at Apple store and replacement on the way.

A00F, even backlighting, slight ghosting after displaying the same thing for several hours (the address bar is seen on a dark gray background after using Safari for a few hours for example).

Ghosting disappears after a few minutes and is not noticeable at all otherwise, so it's not an issue for me.

well there goes that theory...

I wouldn't rule it out. We can still look at the production date of when they were made to still help out to see if the issue is still there.

At this point it does seem like luck of draw but who knows, we need more data!
