I'd imagine that the store demo machines will be among the earliest. Was it A00E?
Yes. Sorry. It was I believe.

Production week: 25 (June), A00F - very bad ghosting. Return period expires this friday, will take it to the apple store later this week.
Mine is A00E and it has ghosting.
What have people been doing with these are they being replace by Apple?
Update on my cousin's rMBP
I left the ' Verge ' open for about 20 minutes [ dark grey background on the desktop and max brightness ] and could see some ghosting!! Can see some text and grid lines![]()
Display type: A00F
Manufacture week : 25 [ June ]
Waiting for the 15" cMBP HR replacement to decide which to keep and then act accordingly. But, its disappointing!
Oh, and the right side [ around the right speaker ] creaks too...![]()
Just to add to the discussion, you can find out who manufactured your display by putting this into the terminal: ioreg -lw0 | grep \"EDID\" | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6
If the resulting string begins LP it's an LG Philips display, if it begins LSN then it's a Samsung display. Having asked around, it seems that what ColourSync reports as model A00E is the Samsung display, and A00F is the LG Philips.
I've got a Samsung screen with no ghosting, but it has a nasty yellow tint towards along the left edge of the screen and around the bottom left corner. Sending it back for a replacement. This one was actually a replacement for another rMBP with a dodgy trackpad, and that one had an LG display which had no problems whatsoever.
