For those who got there new MacBook Pro how do you go about getting free iwork and iLife? Just show up under purchases in App Store or what?

You get a notification inviting you to download iWork, iPhoto and iMovie come up as updates and Garageband is free to everyone.

I haven't set my computer yet just wondering for tomorrow so I know what to expect

In the Notification Centre. 🙂

They pop up initially as a notification, if you click on it you go to the app store. From that point on they'll be available under "purchased" in the app store on the machine in question.
