how can someone hate a company?
Get F'd over enough by any company and you can hate them. What is so strange about that.
I don't hate Samsung, but I won't buy one of their TV's again, mine and a few others I knew had them die in the first two years.

My fridge, washing machine and dryer are Samsung. They're good for that at least.

Ever heard of Pioneer, their TV'S that are five years old and used still sell for more then a new Samsung TV. Their absolutely phenomenal, I paid $8000 for mine.

I'm fine with Samsung as long as they don't eat much of Apple's market share and as long as they aren't copycats who innovates on their own.
If Samsung copied Apple TV, I'm not buying a single samsung product again.
Apple is going to make a TV? If they do that thing will be so expensive. When they first made their 17" monitor. They had an initial price tag of $4000 on it....and it was just a monitor.
BTW, Apple uses some of Samsung parts in their phones and iPads instead of innovating their own.
Why do you care how much market share Samsung has? You have stock in Apple?
The Apple Tax is a myth.
I care about Samsung's market share because they don't deserve their high market share. Apple deserved it. Samsung just copied Apple. Apple worked hard and Samsung just placed it into their product.
Seems mine is doing that. Turns on a right back off. Once it's on it works. But it takes about 15 tries for that to happen.
Every company copies. Nobody uses a feature set that is completely original. Apple used the Android notification drawer, for example.

Well, Apple must have run around the school kissing everyone, cos there sure are an awful lot of people here who love Apple.
I have a hate for samsung products since a looong time... long before the apple vs samsung fanboy hate started... I never touch Samsung or Lg even with a 10 foot stick... And I try my best to discourage people who plan to buy a samsung... Recently I convinced my cousin to get a Panasonic plasma instead of the Samsung LED...

In terms of consumer electronics I have nothing from Samsung. But there's nothing stopping me from buying their stuff if I like it.

You serious? If you really believe that 'they' hate Samsung through and through, you're the one that's conflicted. In a pretty bitter way. Please take a step or two back and consider reality.
Pioneer don't technically make them anymore though
Though I wish they did, our Bravia is due for an upgrade and one of those 50" Kuro ones would have been awesome...
Anyway to the point, I don't see how anyone can "hate" a company that simply sells products. Samsung have done a cracking job, especially in the past few years. Despite the hate going on in this forum, the S2 was phenominal, the S3 is getting positive write-ups and anyone who can honestly look at one of their top end LED screens and say that they suck is IMHO crazy
Why doesn't samsung deserve that market? They use different hardware for the most part, and a totally different operating system, they make a quality product.
What did samsung copy exactly?
The Smartphone?
Touch Screens?
Home Button?
multi touch?
Apps?
built in media?
rounded square?
Because apple copied all of that to. Nothing in Android or iOS is really original. Its all been done before.
Well, I can't help feeling that with certain products Samsung really went for the iPhone/iPad look. Which is kind of sad for a company of their stature and size.
Or do you think the Galaxy ended up looking like this completely by accident?
I have 2 Samsung HDTV's from 2007 which have been flawless. A 61" HLT6187SAX DLP (LED Backlit) and a 40" LNT4053 LCD. When it comes time to replace them, I will definitely buy Samsung's again
I think they did get a little stealy with how the galaxy looks, which is fine by me because I refuse to buy a phone without a keyboard, but yeah I can see that. But Samsung makes so many other android phones, even without the galaxy, I think they'd be fine.
It's not like the iPhone is original either.

Yeah I saw that picture before. I just checked and it looks like the F700 wasn't shown to the public before feb 2007, actually after Apple showed off the iPhone. The person who made that pic didn't let facts stop him I suppose.
Anyway, not losing a second of sleep over any patent war or anything, it's just that I can sympathize with those that say Samsung is a copycat.
The F700 was only a month later than the iPhone, I highly doubt even samsung could design an entire new phone and OS to go with it in a month.
I don't loose sleep over any of this, Apple is a copycat as well, so is Samsung, Companies copy off each other all the time.
My work phone they give me is an iPhone 4S, but my personal phone is some kind of mid level samsung, and I like it for the sole fact it has a keyboard.
