A question for those of you who have tried both MBA models: Did you notice any significant difference in how warm either model got on the bottom after a couple hours use?

I know neither should get too warm, but was just wondering if anyone noticed a difference. I have made multiple trips to my local Apple store to play around and it seemed like the 13' ran a little warmer. Neither model came close to throwing out the heat I have experienced on my gf's white macbook though.

I'm just looking for more info to make my decision easier...

if you plan on using it for most general task get the 13" the extra 200 dollars can be easily realized from not having to upgrade as soon on your next purchase, lol.

Although the resolution is nice on both models, the 11inch is simply too weak in the processor area (in my opinion) full 1080p HD videos stuttered on me when I tried it in the store. Most people probably don't care, but I am an Audio/Video fanatic so these things are a must, lol.

Also, 4gb is a must! with Lion coming out next year, and other apps on the horizon 4gb is a must (especially when its not upgradable later).

btw, I ordered a 13" fully loaded, with the 2.13ghz 4gb ram and 256ssd. :p it was delivered this past tuesday. hehe.

finally, yeah it was slightly warm, but nothing like my other laptops I've used. it get warm around the rear where it vents out.

I did not notice much of a difference. But, I did notice that both choke while using them in the sun. It was 85 here in AZ the past few days. while using them in the sunlight, both systems slowed down (Throttled) and the fans ramped up. The 11 was much worse.

The 13" will get warmer 'cause it's got full processors - that pull 18W (aka get hotter) vs. the ULV processors that pull only 10W (aka don't get as hot).

To be honest, I've grown so fond of the 13" MBA, that I was considering an 11" just for the fun of it.

What pushed me over the edge into buying an 11" was the failure I had with the first 13". As contrary as that might sound, I have confidence that Apple will take care of the issues, so I bought the 11" to have something to use while awaiting the arrival of the replacement for the defective 13.

When I left the defective one at the Apple store they had no idea how long it would take to replace it, so that gave me just the excuse I needed to buy the 11.

Both are about the same in terms of warmth and I find them just fine. Certainly not objectionable.

    Hope this helps you.
