For those who got the Titanium or Hermes watches, did you get AppleCare? Have you used it?

I'm wondering if i should get it for the Titanium watch. The Ti isn't massively more than the Stainless Steel one but the AppleCare is double in price. I know it's for 3 years instead of 2 but still seems pricely.

However, breaking it would also cost more to repair! So would be good to know what others did?

My Hermes is due to be delivered tomorrow. Ordered it from the Hermes store (didn't see an option to add AppleCare at time of purchase), so as soon as it arrives, I will be getting AppleCare for it.

Not sure where you are, but do remember there's a difference between AppleCare and AppleCare+ - the latter providing accidental damage coverage rather than extending the warranty coverage.

I put the monthly AC+ on my S6 SBTi -- haven't used it and hope not to.

I did. Knowing that I have express replacement for accidental damage is worth it for me.

Contemplating on getting one for my SBTi but it’s quite costly. The standard warranty covers for two years too. Plus my previous watches have scratches and some dings on the casing but they’re made out of Ion-X Glass and aluminium chassis which are not the strongest materials. Titanium has sapphire glass so I’m wondering if these protections are sufficient.

For my previous edition watches, I've added AC+

Express Replacement and cheaper battery service is worth it for me in case I need it.

I’ve add AC+ to every product I’ve purchased, from Apple and not from it.
I’ve purchased one month ago one new Apple Watch 2 Edition, never opened, and the cost of repair/substitution today is more than 881€, when the Watch itself costs 1369€ (in 2016).
Obviously Apple won’t recognize my warranty and hides itself to not answer me on AC+ I want to purchase (79€).
I don’t care if I don’t use AC+ in yrs (btw Watches are delicate subject, so you could change one every yr for 65€ and get one new with new battery), I can’t sustain Apple support’s costs and also I can I won’t.
I’ve repairs 5 screens on a MacBook 12” 2015 and 2 in a MacBook 12” 2019; I’ve repairs 2 screens on a iPhone SE 2016 in warranty and substituted 7 iPhone SE 2016 in 2 yrs everyone with same issue.
I know Apple is good enough, but I won’t pay US costs for Chinese products.
AppleCare+ exist for that, for me.

I usually get AC+ for the Apple products I purchase that come with me wherever I go (i.e. iPhone and Apple Watch). That said, I had AC+ on my S6 Ti and purchased it as well when I bought my S7 Ti. It's that extra piece of mind in case I somehow damage it and need an express replacement.

While I do not currently have the edition watch, I do have AC+ on my S4 SBSS and about 5 or so months ago my speaker started to go weaker and weaker, so got it replaced through AC+.
I’m generally not a big fan of AC+ but I will always get it for the AW and am currently considering the S7 SBTi, will go to the store this week to see it in person

My watch is always on my wrist and I work in an office environment. Chance of damage is too small for me to warrant AppleCare+. So a no for me.

I purchased it for my SB Hermès. I would hate to not have it and something happen to my watch. Accidents happen!

How often have you guys used AppleCare+ for your Titanium Apple Watch and what are the reasons it got damaged to the point where you made a claim out of curiosity?

My old series 2 aluminum watch has taken a beating but nothing that would justify the expense of replacing it. Is the sapphire screen more fragile than the ION-X?

I wasn't planning on buying AppleCare+ for my space black titanium Apple Watch but now I'm wondering since it's the most exposed out of all my apple devices.

Haven’t used it for my S6 Ti but, I used it when the Digital Crown on my SS S5 became intermittent. Apple replaced it with a new watch the next day.

Haven't used it on my S5 Ti. I have a *TINY* scratch on my screen crystal, which I'll likely use it on before my AppleCare+ runs out next year.

Ive had it for Ti S5, S6, and now S7. Just the express replacement makes it worth it to me.
Interesting. Have you used it so far? (Express replacement).

i agree with others here. Accidents do happen and the replacement is quite a bit! I ended up getting it myself.

AppleCare+ is actually quite inexpensive, relative to what you get.

Furthermore, when it comes to selling, having AC+ really helps make the sale that quickly.

I got the AC+ for my Space Black Titanium series 5 and also for the series 7 Hermes. I hope I never have to use it but it's there as a cheap insurance policy if I ever need it.

If cashflow is a concern then consider the monthly plan.

Yes, once for the S5 when I had battery issues. They ship it next-day air.

It was nice to have the replacement waiting for me when I got home. Just drop the defective one in the box and ship it back. Easy-peasy.

I guess it depends on where you live and your use case (I don’t give my device lots of beating and keep them as long as they work and satisfy my needs). In my country I find it quite expensive and never hear anyone talk about it, so I guess it is not widely considered. I bought it for my very first iMac, because I was a first mover in my circle of friends and didn't know what to expect. But since, Instead of buying new insurance for every single device, I have added a more general electronic insurance to my home insurance, which has been useful a few times (both Apple and non Apple stuff) and exceeds the AppleCare time period.

Well said.

I never buy any extended warranty for precisely the reasons you outlined above. You've described it very well.

One thing I love about AppleCare+ is the front-of-the-line service you get when it comes to any issues: technical, software, or hardware. That alone to me is worth the price as my time is valuable.

I did buy AppleCare+ for my S5 ceramic. I clean the watch daily, and I was rather clumsy such that it nearly slipped out of my hands a few times. Also, I once landed my S0 SS face down and shattered the crystal, which served as a lesson to me. Taking off the watch with the solo loop can be a bit hairy sometimes. It’s also not a watch that can be sent in for regular service like mechanical watches.

I decided I'm going to buy AppleCare+ for my titanium watch. Was working out yesterday and I almost scratched it when I was on the ground.

However, am I missing something? When I tried to buy it says "24 months of coverage for $149" or monthly for $4.99 per month. Over two years = $120 vs. $149? Or is that 3 years total for $149?
