I had a few gigs of photos, videos and other files in my Macbook Pro running 10.7.3 for a while now, and just got around to finally deleting the trash. It has been stuck with about 25% more to delete for a couple hours now. What should I do?

    Thanks.

    Force delete it.

With this rm -rf ~/.Trash/* in Terminal.

Or hold option and hit empty trash.

I'm curious about your opinion of Trash It app as a last resort in a difficult situation.

The reviews look very positive, and it looks like it runs the same command, I'd say go ahead, so long as it works.

To get rid of the progress window, hold Option and right-click Finder in the Dock, then choose Relaunch.
