Force Time Machine while on Battery

Is it possible to force Time Machine to run while on Battery power (i.e. Non-AC power).

I see that TM will keep track of the files that changed but as I understand it, TM won't preform the hourly backups until the laptop is under AC power and it will then hit all of the files that changed.
