Is there anyway to force Apps and particularly Glances to refresh their content?
My current favorite News app on the Watch is CNN but it is very frustrating in that it rarely updates the Glance and App itself without force quitting the app.
Any thoughts/ideas?
Thanks.

You are force quiting the app on iPhone? I've been wondering this as well.

How about opening the app on iPhone, or opening the app on watch? Do they update then?

(This is probably a bug in the apps though.)

I just had a glance that wouldn't update, force quitting the app didn't help. I launched the Watch App and then the glance updated, though.

No I was referring to force quitting the Watch version of the app.

Yep that is what is happening with the CNN watch app. I have to force quit it to get it and the glance to update. Sometimes the glance version will update itself but rarely the full Watch app.

I've read that force quitting the Watch app doesn't quit the watch extension (the piece running on your phone, which contains all the data.) So it kind of makes sense that you wouldn't see an update in this case (well, if the app is buggy. The app should be doing some form of update each time it displays on the Watch in most cases.)

From tinkering with my watch and the SDK when making Departure Board. It appears that a common issue (me and atleast 1 or 2 others apps) was some glances did not update on when viewed. This is because we (devs) didn't read the programming guide properly and did have hardware to test on. I have updated my app to fix this issue and i suspect mny other davs will too.

To force quit a watch, press and hold the contact button, until the power off shows, then release the button and press and hold again.

I have also found a glance can crash in the background with no visual cue to the user (an iOS app just quits when this happens). The only fix for this I have found is toggling the glance in the Apple Watch app. Although it may reload after a few minutes, not tested fully.
