I found this quite amusing.
Note to self: If you are ever in a hospital and a cat sits on your lap, prepare to die.
Maybe that cat is just Death himself.
Cats have unearthly senses... this is a really touching story.
That's so crazy!
That's such a nice story
so true. i'm such a sap...i really was touched by this.
maybe that's because i have a "protector" kitty at home....she's so small, but she escorts me everywhere and makes sure i make it from, say, the shower to my bedroom closet. when someone's staying over, she'll escort them from the shower to the guest room. she's so smart.
Who knew the Grim Reaper would be so cute?
From this point forward, I will never let that happen.
Maybe it's not so much that he goes to them because they're dying but that they die because he goes to them...
Is this the kitty?
Amazing story. Cats/animals have extraordinary perceptions.
"it's also possible his behavior could be driven by self-centered pleasures like a heated blanket placed on a dying person, Dodman said."
I vote for a cat being a cat.
Oh, wow. All I can say is that I'm glad that he's in the dementia unit, so by the time that the patients die, most of them are bad enough they don't know what's going on. Because if I were there, and of sound mind, I would be absofreakinglutely terrified if that cat came within ten feet of my room. Omen of death, and all that.
I think it's really sweet. Animals just know things that we don't. They pay attention on a whole different level.
I would brick it if that cat came and laid down beside me though.
Touching story, but I simply couldn't resist...
Cats are so intelligent it's scary sometimes. It's very touching that the cat stayed with the people who were dying.
