3 of us now (a friend, my wife and I) all are having SMS messages showing sent but not sent and have parts of our threads disappear. That to me is way more of a mess up than mapping data

Sounds like it is a carrier issue, not an iPhone issue. No problems like that, thus far, with my ATT 5.

Another posted was commenting how SMS's sent to him by banks were disappearing. It's not common, but you're not alone.

I've noticed conversations seems to be disappearing from the Messages app on my Macbook Air. But when I close and restart the program, they reappear.

All iOS 6 iPhones have this problem... I checked way more than 10 devices and they all share the same issue.. Not everyone is realising it and that's because the messages that are disappearing are the ones that came from carriers, banks, shops.. (these messages are identified by a name and not a number.. And are not ususally in your contacts list..) This is related to the spoofing exploit that was fixed in iOS 6. And to top this out, as soon as you get a new message from these companies (After the update) you will lose the history of the corresponding thread (All messages that were received prior to the update will vanish). If you did not receive any new message (after the update) from those contacts you can see the text in the preview, but as soon as I open the message/thread all content is gone, and the empty thread moves to the bottom of the list

Please check my thread below, it has more details about this problem..

And there are other forums on other sites to check as well:

I hope that this issue will get more attention...
