I'm getting ready to sell my MacBook and realized after reformatting my HD that I forgot to disable iCloud (as well as deauthorize it from iTunes). Should I set my system back up under me and log back into iCloud and then disable it before reformatting? Will that completely disassociate my iCloud ID with my MacBook or can I just leave it be after reformatting and reinstalling El Capitan?

Relax, easy fix. Sign in to www.icloud.com and click on Settings. Find the device you want to unlink. Click it, then click "Lost, Sold, or Gave Away This Device..." It'll be unlinked from your account & removed.

The only slightly more difficult one is iTunes - for that you'll just have to choose "Deauthorize all devices" and then log back in on the computers you use.
