“Forgot”

As if buying a new iPhone is like remembering to pick up toilet paper at Safeway.

Whoopsie! “Honey, did you remember to order all the new iPhones?”

🤔 Yall think all that (massive) launch day pickup without pre-order means Apple finally got production straight or is demand just way down this time?

Saw the orange Pro Max in person and man it looks horrendous! 😱😅

And that iPhone Air… once you slap a case on it the whole thin and light thing is gone. No point unless you run it bare and risk scratches every time it falls or bumps something…

I think Apple just prioritizes stock for in-store customers so people who go to Apple Stores on launch day actually get a chance of buying one.

I did the launch day order for same-day ISPU for one of our iPhone 15 Pros as well.

Interesting. The lowest storage model and “backordered”. Since it is being marketed to prosumer, I doubt it would be wise to choose 256GB just because of lower price: the issue is that it certainly has slower flash storage than beefier options.

Maybe those are still Apple’s tricks to lure people into higher priced models?

Pretty sure stocks will be ok in a week or so. They seem to do it every year

When I checked at around 5:01am, I was curious and the orange 17PM 256GB was still available for same-day pickup at many of the stores near me (Los Angeles area).

First time in like five years I didn’t preorder one nor will I be picking one up. I’m disgusted with the direction Apple has decided to go this year and I don’t want to be a part of it.

Also, cases leaving that camera bump completely open looks hideous.

Yep, I didn't pre-order iPhone 8, SE2 and iPad Pro 11" each when they came out and instead went to my local Apple Store in Osaka (Japan) on release day and bought one there no problem at all. Was expecting to do the same this morning and went to the new Apple Store in Osaka Umeda but they had zero stock for customers who hadn't pre-ordered. was quite surprised (and disappointed!). The sales person said they won't have stock in stores for a while and recommended ordering online but there's a 3 week wait already...

dang. I am in Atlanta and have a ton of options for pick up.

I just got my deep blue iPhone 17 Pro. I really like the color. Also, I got the tech woven case for it. It has a rugged texture on the sides, which I love as there is now a better grip

Adding my experience on here because I'm a little confused and there is talk about stock inflation regarding orange models. I've been a part of the iPhone upgrade program for 8 years and always get the latest model on launch day by preordering and ordering ASAP.

Today was the first time ordering at 5 a.m. PDT where Apple stated launch day delivery for the orange iPhone 17 pro max 2tb, only to push it back 2 weeks last weekend (for reference, I'm in a large US city with 4 Apple Stores in a 20-mile radius). It'll be interesting to see what store stock is as clearly shipping to home is last on the priority list now and the iPhone upgrade program is no longer the best way to get the latest device on time. Seems like overpromise and underdeliver.

Pre-ordering doesn't always guarantee you will be the first to get the new one. It's much better to just wait and then pick one from the store when it's available.
or keep the dream alive and go do the whole line thing in front of the store looking desperate ;)

I should be receiving my iphone 17 Pro here shortly, waiting for UPS. Really glad i got the Blue. Saw the iphone 17 Pros in apple store this morning when i picked up apple watch. They are UGLY but especially the Silver. THEY LOOK SO CHEAP!! At least the Blue and the Orange hide it a bit.

The Air looks cool, still using titanium so looks most similar to the 15 and 16 Pros... But really surprised by how UGLY these are. Im almost debating just keeping my 16 Pro but I already promised it to my son...

Drove around seeing if anyone had one in stock, Best Buy, Walmart, phone carrier stores still had them in stock but all with carrier contract requirements, still cheaper to buy it outright.
Best Buy allows you to purchase an unlocked iPhone but only the iPhone 14.
The Apple Store in my area doesn’t have them in stock until October, that’s when I’ll get one most likely unless the carriers walk back their outrageous pricing.
But I’m glad I went to Best Buy, saw that the Tablo TV was $69 and just bought one last week so got a $30 credit so it wasn’t a complete waste of time.

The website said that my iPhone wouldn't be available to pickup at my Apple Store...so I'll have to wait until between Oct 3-10 to have it delivered.

At the 5th Ave store in NYC they're throwing you in an hour+ long line even if you have a pick up appointment time slot. Such a wonderful experience for a premium company!

Stores will be having stock of some models. Can check out the availability. Anyway I have already ordered my orange 17 Pro Max online and it should be delivered by 13th October. Saw the phone in store and I liked it very much. The orange looks nice.
