Format & Reinstall OS (LION)

Hi,

I need to know if there is a way to format the hard-drive and reinstall the OS without the discs. I don't know where I put the disk and I would like to sell the computer. Any ideas?

If you purchased Lion from the App Store, you could download the installer and put it on a USB drive. Using the installer USB, format the drive and reinstall Lion.

If you did not buy Lion from App Store, you could use the network recovery installer.

Do I format first and then do the install or does the install format my computer at the same time?
