Formatted my flasdrive using DU, now unrecognizeable

I formatted a 1gb PNY flashdrive because I had space that was just "lost", and used the default formatting format (i think it was ms-dos). When I tried to plug it into my Xbox 360, I get no recognition of my USB device. When using bootcamp in XP, the flashdrive takes a long time to load, but does read. Any tips?
