Formatting my mac

Hi, Im selling my mac and want to completely format the computer to its original settings.. Can someone please help me with this, also I cannot find the Mac OS X install disks so won't be able to do it with those.

If you have an Intel iMac, you can buy the Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Upgrade DVD for 29 USD, I did that recently, as I lost my Restore DVDs too, and they cost more than 10.6.

So if I get these, and then just install Leopard, will it erase everything on the comp, as in my files and music etc?

Yes, if you do a Clean Install and also follow the guide I linked to.

Don't forget that the Snow Leopard and Leopard retail disks do not include iLife; that only comes free with new Macs and is on the restore disks.
