Holy smoke!
I like that Amiga drawing. I am almost tempted to go for that updated 64 style cased system. But unless these are affordable and get out into lots of different shops I can't see this being very successful at all. Good luck to them though. :)
Are you keeping up with the commodore because the commodore is keeping up with you......

It was good to see Commodore still alive and kicking. Back then, they were a wonderful product that empowered home users to program software line by line and be able to play games. They were the good old days where text based adventure games were the norm and leafing through RUN magazine just to see what kind of software we can transcribe them to on screen with machine language. Good times.

Beautiful machines. Sure, they were slow in their loading times but the games they had were legendary.

Sculley emphasizes Jobs' view of the customer experience, incorporating that perspective into every aspect of product design. But even from their earliest days, Jobs and Apple shied away from focus groups, with Jobs arguing that it was impossible to gain feedback on revolutionary new devices when the potential users couldn't understand the leaps Apple was trying to make.

Yes, that's exactly right.

Jobs plays the role of the customer for every product, so no focus groups are needed.

"Beleaguered", don't you mean?

Well, that would come first. Doom comes later. Besides, "doom" sounds much more ominous. :D

Steve is good at a lot of things, but paranoia and a need to control everything (even when he can't possibly do it all in time) is definitely an issue. Clearly Sculley thought this was an issue in the '80s as well. Many think Apple would have clobbered Microsoft if Steve had kept control, but I'm not so sure. I'm seeing many troubling signs already with his control left completely unchecked and out of balance. Everything feels iOS orientated and even if next year is Mac orientated, that leaves iOS stagnating. He simply cannot do both effectively and stay ahead forever. Something has to give.
