It's easier than you think honestly. I worked at Apple in the supply chain management for about 6 years. There's a level of trust when you work in those positions. It's the same at a lot of companies. But also you're talking about a LOT of purchase orders. That dept handled EVERY Apple sold item , even stuff Apple doesn't produce. If you are stupid..yet smart and bold enough you can do it, and it will be a while before you're caught, but it will eventually happen. All those PO's are tracked and linked to your user ID. The financial discrepancy will eventually become big enough to get someone's attention.

Seems like the approval process NEEDS to be overhauled with various levels of approvals as cost scales upwards with proper checking of goods/services rendered and received and delivered vs payments to the right people or better yet to companies entities verified and consistently verified and audited.

if you worked in the same department, Supply Chain Management then you have exclusive knowledge as to how the employee would have been able to pull this off. Therefore can you please provide a basic breakdown of how Apple's supply chain works, more to the point the paper trail because it would be very interesting to get an insiders views on this rather than someone just searching the internet looking for how it works.
