I don't know if this will last forever and I don't even play Fortnite.
Buy I enjoy every second they're rubbing salt into the wounds of incorrigible anti-choicers and monopoly apologists.

The first bricks have been knocked out of the wall. 🥳
And they won't be the last. Brazil likely being next. 🇧🇷

On May 21th Epic Games returned Fortnite to the Apple App Store.
And it gave us hope that 2034 won't be like '1984.'

Apple wanted a 30% cut for transactions that had nothing to do with them. Epic didn't agree.
when you are on the appstore, transactions go through the appstore anyway, so the 30% is mandatory.

so why did they have to ban them? if epic didn't agree but kept the game up , every purchase would still go partially in apple pockets. if they didn't publish it because of it...well, no need to ban.

i just dont get the ban

You can’t have a “monopoly” apologist for something that is not a monopoly.

You pay for the hardware, not the software. Apple reserves the right to operate it how they want. There is a much bigger picture here than what you’re suggesting.

Just hours after Fortnite returned to the U.S. App Store, the game made it to the top of the App Store charts.
😲

This can't be right. Based remarks from Apple apologists on this forum, Fortnite's time was done and it is no longer relevant.

It is a shame that Apple is so petty they still won't allow the game in other regions; they literally do the minimum required by law/court order.

Hosting isn't free and Apple shouldn't have to eat the cost of running the App Store for free apps with in-app purchases. What if there was a per-download charge for free apps with in-app purchases that are handled outside the App Store? All other terms remain as-is. That would keep developers from freeloading on the App Store hosting while making money outside the system.
