I'm finding it increasing difficult to easily post on Macrumors ( though I love it dearly) because for some reason the following always occurs ;

1) When posting the form 'times out' when I come to post and requires me to login AGAIN. After doing so it just wipes out my entire post. Can the 're-login' timeout be more like 30 mins rather than 5mins? Sometimes avoiding writing crap takes quite a lot of time.

2) Very often after I login again and then post it just hangs on a white page.

This is the only forum this happens on.

Hope this helps.

I have been having the same problems also. Sometimes the server drops the connection and leaves me hanging.

Haven't had those issues. I never have to re-login. Maybe your browser is having cookie issues. Might try clearing cookies and cache to see if it clears the issue. You might want to check any addons or plugins you have installed. You didn't specify your browser.

I never have to re-login either

Not sure it will help, but do you have the "remember me" box checked when you log in?

Seems to be something that started in the last six months (maybe even Safari 4). Wasn't always this way and I'm not doing anything differently.

Thanks anyway...

The symptoms you describe should hopefully be resolved by the advice of angelwatt and MacDawg.

If it doesn't I would try resetting your browser.

A work around is that when composing a post if you press the Preview Post button it will reset the time-out timer and thus give you another 15 minutes.

Hopefully we can work out what is wrong with your browser than revert to work arounds but the "Remember Me" option should remove the timer but obviously there is an issue somewhere.
