Any comments from the mods regarding a "forum jump" on the bottom of the page? Another small, useful feature that I have found missing from this forum. :(

Heres a quick pic from a different forum in case you arent sure what I'm talking about.

The decision is up to the site owner, not the moderators.

It has come up before. You can see discussion about it here and here and here.
It seems like all these restrictions are due to server load. Why keep cutting features to keep the server load down? Maybe its time to upgrade the server?

The server has been upgraded/replaced a few times. It's not exactly as if those features are necessary for the forums to operate.

Of course their not necessary. Lots of things are necessary. There are just some really nice forum features which are disabled to apparently cut down on server load. If those features are really stressing the server, you would logically upgrade the server, not just cop out by deleting features. Just my opinion, and I'm sure Arn might be able to explain better.

Are you running firefox?

If so, grab the GreaseMonkey extension, and hack away a simple mod for https://forums.macrumors.com/ that displays a dropdown at the bottom of every page.

Sometimes it's just easier to 'fix' the site on the client side :)

Hmm, no I'm running Shiira but if this offers all the lacking features, I could be tempted to switch. I'll check it out, thanks for the link.

Does that extension work for Camino?

I added it. I think performance shouldn't be an issue any more.

I usually just navigate new posts (and threads I'm posted in) but for those times I want to go to a special forum this seems like a nice, convenient option... thanks... :)

I just noticed it this morning, then saw this thread. I suppose it could be useful, although I don't typically browse by forum. I'm sure others will appreciate the prompt response, though. :)

I never browse by Forum, just by New Posts, but I'm sure some will find this feature useful. Thanks arn!
Ditto that.

Thanks, Arn for always taking a keen interest in how members feel. :D

I generally browse by New Posts but tend to skim read or look for threads I have already posted in. I usually then go back to a couple of forums to find the threads I've missed, so this will be really useful. Thanks arn :)

I saw it too and had to think about whether or not this feature was always there. :)

Looks like it could be useful. :)

Thank you for all your great work, Arn! :)

On the other forum I go to that has this feature, I don't use it consistently... mostly, I have a bookmark folder in my bookmark bar with the subpages I want. I do that for MR too. But when I want to go somewhere I don't usually go, I find this very useful. :)

Wow.. I didn't think I'd use it the first time I saw this, but I'm using it after like every post.

Great feature! :)

I am using it all the time already too! Thanks Arn!:D

Is there much point in having all the subforums listed under "Archive"? That seems to make quite a long list with those in, and I doubt many people would go to those specific subforums often.

Other than that, thanks for adding the menu, arn :) Something I've wanted to see in MR for a while :)
