I was warned about this rule today...
It's just a reminder in case you didn't know about the rule. See What is an "infraction"? in the FAQ.

Anyway...just a bit annoyed that I was warned and then my original post was altered so I have no idea exactly how to defend my actions.
We can give you the details if you submit a Contact form. Or, if you say it's OK, we can post them here.

In this case just use the "Edit" feature and include the new information if you want to.

True...and I have...it's just that sometimes my example happens within 45 seconds, sometimes 5-10 mins. I can't babysit my posts. :) All for the sake of an extra 2KB of text stored in the MR database and/or a 3-line reply that takes up 1 inch of screen real estate.

Not being a jerk...I fully understand all the scenarios and this particular policy...but the "warnings" might want to be reserved for someone who posts, for example, 5 individual replies within a 4 minute window. I've seen posts where I reply, hit Submit, and the person I quoted had edited out/added more stuff that I was addressing...making my reply-post look foolish.

Lots of different examples of how/why this policy can be silly unless it's really being abused. The new voting system is a huge help, however.

Has a new feature been enabled due to consecutive posting? I'm seeing stuff like

where it would have been consecutive posting.

Yes, we're experimenting with software changes to auto-merge consecutive posts. Expect an announcement soon.

that would be nice and reduce the stress level ...

Specially on mobile devices the risk of creating consecutive posts is high as the reply functions are quite limited (or I just don't know how to)

Anyway: thanks for spending the effort to improve your system. Much appretiated.

Oh wow, never thought that this feature would come up. Pretty nifty.

Mind if I test?

Huh. Wow. That's awesome. Nice feature guys!

What's the time-frame where it does this?

Nobody has been expected to make multi-posts from the mobile interface, since it doesn't have that feature; another reason we wanted to automate it.

To be announced, probably tomorrow.
