We did a small software upgrade today to bring us up to the latest version of the forum software.

I thought this upgrade would be pretty minor but it did introduce some issues.

So if you see anything weird, you can report it here.

WTF there are upvotes on posts now? in addition to likes? Not a fan of the upvotes personally, I prefer the like/reaction paradigm.

Example:

Edit: Nevermind, they're gone now. Phew!

Hello, as the New Site design thread has been closed for further replies, I’m going to use this forum upgrade Oct 2021 thread to share some feedback about something I think it could be improved on the new site design.

I’ve been thinking about sharing this for a long time but I never thought it was important enough. But now, cheered by @justperry I’m sharing it here.

It is about quoting. It is difficult to quote someone else AFTER you have posted a message, while editing. there is no tool to insert a quote while you edit a message. See this:

I could have simply edited my previous message in order to quote Boardi’s post to just say ”Exactly this” (or even adding to what they were saying) but once the post is published you’re forced to post again, sometimes double or triple posting. Yes, there is a multi-quote tool, but it doesn’t work while editing a post, and that would be the quickest way to solve this small inconvenience: Adding multi-quote tool to the editing feature, just like in new posts.

There is a clucky workaround, copying and pasting the quote and putting [QUOTE ] and [ /UNQUOTE] but it is not as easy, quick and efficient as the multiquoting tool (which, at the same time, is a bit cluttered in small screens, but I won’t complain about that)

I don't believe there's a quick solution. A somewhat awkward solution is to hit "Reply" on the message you want to quote. This will end up inserting the quote into the reply editor at the bottom of the page, and then you can copy and paste that into your edit. At least doing this, you don't have to insert the QUOTE/UNQUOTE tags yourself.

I started this reply without pressing the +Quote or Reply button.

Here, my cursor is on the line after the colon:

And then I just clicked Reply.

Thus proving that @arn types faster than I do.

EDIT

It doesn't work when you Edit a prior post. When you have a post open for Editing and click Reply, it goes into the new-post editing box. You can copy and paste it from there into the post undergoing Edit.

I’m having an issue, not sure if it’s new, but if it was there already, I didn’t notice it earlier.

When you open the notification panel on the iPhone, scrolling gets messed because it triggers the URL hiding or showing.

The best to demonstrate this issue is a video, so here we go:

I've noticed this too. Seems to be just a XenForo bug as it happens on other XenForo forums as well. They would probably have to fix it.
