I have an iPhone 4 with mywi on it and I tether my data to my wifi iPad but when I do that I put my phone a ways away from me to get better service an was wondering if there is any way to somehow forward text messages to my iPad so I could respond to them from my iPad?

There is not a clean way to do this as right now, you can forward your SMS to a Google voice number and reply from your iPad, but the reply will come from your Google number no your cell number.
