What are the terms of that newegg coupon code? Is it 15% off one item? Entire purchase? The memory only?

I wonder if I could use that coupon on an SSD, or monitor.

I can check that. no they offer a square trade warranty extension for a price

Awesome. Ordered mine with my Discover Card. Didn't realize they offered that. Thanks.

Discover's Q4 promotion is 5% off department stores and online retailers. It's been confirmed to stack with retailers that always have a fixed discount from ShopDiscover.

You have to sign up for it..

I signed up and i linked from discover to jr.com so I may have received 10% off. My problem is I spent a lot on line with the card so I may have only received the extra 5% of the first 550 or so. still that would be 27.50 extra. along with the other 5% 39 so that is 66.50 off not 79.40.

still 799 minus 5 = 794 minus 66.50 is $727.50 plus 42 for the 8gb ram is 769.50. and one of the other posters linked that the warranty was doubled.

so 769.50 with a 2 year warranty and 8gb ram is nice.

Is that G.SKILL 16gb kit better RAM than buying a Crucial 16gb kit from their site?

The promo code for Newegg has already expired. I'm thinking unless I find another deal for less than $75, I might as well go with the Crucial for $81. (I've been buying Crucial RAM to upgrade my last 2 Macs and they've worked well).

(I also saw that Newegg has a 16GB kit for $69.99 that has a higher latency, but the reviews are mediocre. I'm thinking of staying away from that particular model).

This Gskill looks pretty good CL= 10 $79 + free shipping

Or Crucial CL=11 $81+tx for me = $89

Gskill has lower CAS, but I have always used OWC or crucial....

OWC is like $115, CL=11... ugh

Man, ram is so cheap now!

I'm using Gskill in my 2011 Mac Mini and ordered more Gskill for the 2012 Mini. I have been using Gskill in my computers for years without a problem.
