My wife has a T-Mobile Dash (poor thing) and I tried slipping the iPhone into the case it came with. Turns out, it's a perfect fit. Found it online for only $10:

For those of you who were unimpressed with the case selection at launch, check these out. Nice soft leather and a magnetic latch. Feels much nicer than a $10 case should ;)

Great case!

Thanks for the info! I just got it in and you were right--perfect. Black leather, soft, magnetic strap, headphone, vibrate button, mic, and speaker all accessible, great value at $9.95. Thanks again!

I used this case with my tmobile dash before getting the iPhone, it was a very pleasant surprise that the iPhone fit perfectly! I want to get a spare just in case (no pun intended)!

I ordered this case based on your recommendation and I'm thrilled. It really does feel expensive with the leather outside, the suede lining, and the magnetic catch. In fact, this case feels more expensive than the $30 cases I bought.

It's the perfect size and has access to all the important buttons and the headphone jack. I can even see if I'm on vibrate without even touching anything. I'm glad I bought two of these cases at this price.

We should see this on sale as an iPhone case soon, but for $34.99, not $24.99. ;)

There have been some reports that the magnets in various cases are causing problems with the phones ...... anyone using this case have that experience ?

This looks like a really nice case ....

I was concerned about this as well, so far I have not seen any negative impact on the phone. I face it "face-out" which is facing the magnet, so that I can plug the headphones in easily. Another thing I love about this case is when I am listening to music and I would like to adjust the volume, I just have to reach down, open the flap and toggle the volume buttons without having to take the phone out.

Or if you google the issue, you'll find plenty of results. I'm just saying people should be cautious. Looks like the blackbery cases are the biggest problem.

Well after reading some of the reports, I do recall having a "iPhone needs repair" error, as well as some weird signal problems at times. Doing a reset solved both problems but I never had associated it with the case. I am going to stop using it just to be on the safe side.

Per Apple Store: Magnetic cases should be no problem

Also, another poster mentioned this:

http://www.everythingiphone.com/forum/iphone/caution-do-not-use-magnetic-case-4199.html#post38312

I talked to an Apple Store guy who then asked one of the technicians about magnetic cases. Basically, they said since the iPhone uses Flash memory, not a hard drive, a magnet should not be a problem. However, if you apply a magnet directly to the back of iPhone, it may cause speaker problems. Hope this helps.

Oh, and BTW, I've used the case for a month now with no problems (knock on wood).

$1 Cheaper...

This is an excellent find, truly. Way to go Bart Lee! I have been looking for a simply, horizontal case for use when walking around (times when my iPhone is mostly an iPod, like by the pool.)

Anyway, for those who are interested, I found it on eBay, with cheaper shipping (just in case the online vendors catch on and start cranking up the price.)

Also, the Google search I used was "HTC T-Mobile Dash Genuine Leather Case - Original (OEM) 70H00108-00M", just in case this guy runs out.

Anyone using this case with a skin like BSE? I have a generic black leather case with the black suede lining that I bought off of ebay and it is turning my skin black. Thanks for your help!

Got my "HTC T-Mobile Dash Genuine Leather Case" today. It works perfectly, as if it was actually made for the Apple iPhone. Unreal, and for 1/2 what any "Made for iPhone" labeled cases. Excellent craftsmanship and materials, with a soft loner to baby my iPrecious when cradled.

Don't get me wrong, I'll still be running naked more often than not (the way nature and Steve intended it, for the iPhone) but for times when my iPhone is in iPod mode (like sitting around by the pool) or when I want the phone on my hip, this case is awesome.

Hats off, Bart. Your find is much appreciated, sir.
