Well, sooner or later you will need the replace the HDD part, because that one is the most deteriorating over time.

That's one reason it's good to split the SSD off from the HD. Another reason is performance over time.
@George Dawes, it does involve some Terminal commands, but the main problem is that it can take a while as the process involves re-installing macOS from scratch again.
