I am hoping to find a nice deal on a 2020 Pro 11" that is new. Any good clearance deals now that the new model is out?

This would be an upgrade from an Air 2 so its mostly to get something current with the nice Promotion screen.

Best Buy had them for $150 off a few days after the M1 came out. It’s back to full price now, but surely will go on sale again soon.

I saw a couple of places that are $100 off, but the deals aren't really very good considering that a new "latest and greatest" iPP has come out. I'm thinking that Amazon's Prime Days may see some better deals, but it may just be wishful thinking.

I bought a 128GB 2020 12.9" from Costco for $750 (an “okay but not a great deal”), but it looks as though their 12.9" stock is gone, although there are some 11" Pros still available.

It seems that there's still high demand for the 2020 iPP's, so maybe that's keeping the prices up.

I can't even find 2020 12.9" refurbs right now. Costco did have some new 2020's, but I think they're sold out as well.

Slickdeals rule, buy now, decide later. :p
Do you set up some kind of custom alert for Slickdeals? I only hear about them secondhand from other people, and when I search "iPad Pro 12.9" on the site, I seem to just get expired or "meh" deals so far.

Another option is to keep an eye on the Best Buy open box deals for the excellent and excellent-certified. They have the iPP 256 11” open box for $764.99, $135 off.

Their email system is delayed iirc, so it's kinda pointless for the really slick deals that sell out within minutes. With that said, I don't think there have been any really good deals for 2020 iPad Pros apart from the out-of-stock $450 Best Buy refurb.

I know they have an app so maybe notifications on that will work. I just don't like having tons of notifications on my devices. I've pretty much disabled all notifications except for calls and messages.

And those were only sporadically available for a few minutes before they were quickly snatched up, if memory serves.

As another poster said, the surest and probably best deal is on the 2018 Apple refurbished iPPs. A 64GB is $519 and a 256GB $599. These are in pristine condition, have a new battery, and carry the same one-year warranty that Apple has on new ones.

Whats the point of a delayed email system for a deal site?

Is $650 for a new 2020 11" Pro with 256GB a decent deal?

I'm thinking the M1 version in 128GB could be had for a similar price whenever a decent sale can be found. The 2gb RAM boost is attractive more than the processor boost, but that's still half the storage.

I currently max out my old 64GB with minimal music on it.

Since a refurbished 2018 64GB 11" Pro on Apple's online store is $519, this is definitely a decent deal, perhaps better than decent.
