    Hello,

while experimenting with DaisyDisk I found a rather huge file: it is called com.apple.BKAgentService and has a file size of nearly 6 GB. I am now tempted to delete this file, since for me hard disk space is precious. What does that file do; does it store anything valuable; or is it just a remnant of some application installed and removed long ago?

    Any input would be appreciated!

    Kind regards
    Jochen

A quick google indicates this is probably your iBook library. Do you use iBooks on the Mac?

30secs on Google shows it is probably iBooks related so if you have lots of iBooks, or any you care about, best research before just deleting.

OK, thanks for the input. Then I shouldn’t delete the file right away. :)

6GB is a lot though, if you have lots of iBooks then it would seem valid, if you don't then worthy of investigation, if there are loads of sample books etc that you don't use then better to delete the books than the file, should achieve some space saving.

No, that’s ok, I really have a lot of e-Books (thanks to my university’s generosity). :)

Now, that was really fast help. I thank you all!

    Kind regards
    Jochen
