Currently the four-finger swipe left/right brings up the App Switcher, which as most know, doesn't do a whole lot until you move your mouse and click/scroll and four-finger tap to select the app. On the iPad with iOS 5, a four finger swipe left/right will switch apps. How can this be done on Snow Leopard?

Will cmd-tab fit the bill? If you really need to do this with your mouse/trackpad, maybe better touch tool with do it - but I'm not sure about that.

BetterTouchTool can do it. Remember to disable the gesture in the Trackpad preferences upon configuring it on BetterTouchTool

Even better is to use BetterTouchTool to switch between Spaces with that four finger swipe, then allocate your apps to specific Spaces (I have Thunderbird and iCal in Space 1, Firefox fullscreen in the middle Space, then itunes, quicktime etc. in Space 3)
