Been waiting on Micro LED since the series 3. what's the hold up? I'd think the cost woulda come down by now. I couldn't believe Samsung made The Wall TV before such screens were even put in tiny devices
The technology isn’t ready yet. Samsung’s $100,000 Wall is very low ppi, resolution on the 73” model is only 1920x1080. They can’t make a small, high resolution display yet.

I have the original Apple Watch, s0. A quick show of hands: who else?

For me, this first iteration was little more than a nifty iPhone notification device for your wrist. Like many new-to-market devices, this was much more about the potential of the platform than anything else. My fav feature was - and with this device, still is - how little I have to pull out my iPhone.

But as someone looking to upgrade this holiday season, I’m interested to learn two things from s5 users:
1) what are your top 5 fav aspects/most-used features of your s5?
2) what do you hope to see in the s6?

Curious to hear how the platform has matured, how usage habits have evolved and where others hope to see the platform go next.

Cheers.

Exactly my question.

where is the breakthrough that allows this?

where is the patent(s)?

If this was even remotely possible every medical office and hospital on Earth would already have such a machine.

I wouldn't hold my breath. My guess is that they will focus on battery life and sleep tracking the next year and have major changes in the series 7. But what do I know, maybe Apple actually suprises us all, would be nice for a change to not only have incremental upgrades in each product line.

The Series 6 will give us a new CPU and be worth an upgrade for Series 4 users.

We don't know anything about the Series 6 so lets not make ridiculous claims like that, yet.

I'm not sure upgrading a watch every couple of years is a sensible thing to do anyway for the vast majority. A couple of new sensors and a CPU bump isn't a good reason to upgrade.

Have never had an Apple Watch. Should I get a Series 5 or wait for Series 6?

There is no Series 6. Go to a store and try a few Apple Watches on and then decide. We can't decide for you.

You're being awfully nice today...

I think we can safely assume that it will have a new CPU since they did not upgrade it this year. And "a couple of new sensors" is wishful thinking. Even one would be great. For more than that I think many would upgrade.

It would be a knock it out of the park for the medical industry. The benefits to diabetic patients, young patient parents and doctors!

I would say get the Series 5 now (or Black Friday) if you are planning to purchase. I'm currently on a Series 2, waiting to upgrade to the 5. This article is talking about brand new rumors for the Series 6 that will be just less than 1 year away, if true.

As a side, my guess is that the Series 6 will have a change in form factor in some way, so existing band sizes may or may not work. I'm happy to upgrade to the Series 5 since my current Series 2 bands will all still work. To each their own, but that should likely be on new buyers' minds as they debate between the 5 and 6.

not necessarily. everything always has a pro/con list, as does invasive testing im sure.

your unnecessary incredulity prompted me to do a quick google, and non invasive glucose testing already exists.

the watch already now has the ability to operate as a 1 lead ecg. let's not be terribly surprised of its expanding capabilities especially with things that are clearly "remotely" possible when you take 1 second to find out if it exists or not.

I took 2 years off. iOS. Went all in on Android. Work and lack of parity brought me back. The homogeny sucks but the ecosystem is flawless. The convincing was getting iPad PRO, then using my old iphone 6 briefly. Excellent even on old phone. Watching people starting to use their watch as a small smart phone is compelling. Well see, I order one and look fwd to exploring. My work makes carrying a phone not ideal.

its a 2 lead ekg, which has been around for over a century.

your "quick googling" nonwithstanding, in the real world, after a billion dollars of research, for 50 years, there is still no device that is even remotely accurate for measuring blood glucose without a stick.

Maybe the watch can add Oxygen levels. you can buy a device to do that at Wal Mart for $15 on sale.

Good for people that smoke too much. lol
