Foxconn says no iphone 5 in Oct?

I could care less about that site let alone driving traffic to it. No affiliation whatsoever. Just another alternative source of apple rumors / gadget blog for me. I usually lurk and never sign up for forums and felt compelled to just to hear some thoughts from other pessimistic people.

The box definitely looks fake. Spent many years in China so I've seen hundreds of fake phones and iphones and visited thousands of oem factories (for work). but one thing I noticed was that information from China is surprisingly accurate.

God, you still don't get it. Fine, let me paraphrase your very own post by inserting some additional conjectured clauses in order to achieve greater clarity:

Your response to it was: "Nahh would be the Iphone 5. They still released an Iphone 4 after the 3GS."

Crucial part: it's similar to saying "Nahh would be the iPhone 5 because they still released an iPhone 4 after the 3GS even though iPhone 4 is not a fourth iPhone."

Hence LoganT's reply: "The iPhone 4 IS the fourth iPhone. What are you talking about?"

Now, do you see from where the confusion comes?

I see where Logan got confused as he thought i never realised the iphone 4 was the 4th phone due to my lazy response.

I did know the iphone 4 was the 4th phone. That does not mean because the next phone is going to be the "5th phone" it has to be called the iphone 5. For example the 2nd iphone was called the 3g based on the feature. For all we know the phone announced on tuesday wont be the iphone 4s or the iphone 5.
 
Now a 4GS is a whole different story. I would not mind an iPhone 4 with A5 and LTE.
 
The S in 3GS stood for speed. The iPhone 4GS moniker doesn't make sense. If there was an LTE iPhone, it might be called iPhone 4G.

Prediction: Apple will drop the numbers and just call it:

iPhone.
 
If they keep the iPhone 4 chassis, add LTE, and upgrade to the A5 it makes complete sense.
 
That's what I thought when I was reading this part of Apple insider:

Shipments of iPhone 5 from the supply chain are expected to reach 5-6 million in September and top over 22 million units in the fourth quarter as suppliers will ship less iPhone 4 and CDMA-version iPhones during the final quarter of the year, noted the sources.

Although Pegatron Technology has reportedly landed about 15% of iPhone 5 orders from Apple, the company may not begin shipping until 2012, the sources commented.
