The original exploit was reportedly through an unpatched Internet Explorer vulnerability from a worker inside Foxconn.
I read that and think about being in that guys shoes when he's found out, and it just sends chills up my spine.

GO FIGURE!
"The original exploit was reportedly through an unpatched Internet Explorer vulnerability..."
The answer to that is don't run Internet Exploder (IE)!!!
If you run that browser, you can patch all day, every day, and there will ALWAYS be a new hole for someone to find.
I also would not be surprised if it was using IE6 as well.
IE6, yes. But IE9 is a pretty damn fine browser.
Still not as good as the alternatives though.
25% of users in China still use IE6. Take a look:
http://www.ie6countdown.com/
Also: Storing plaintext passwords instead of salted hashes? Tut tut.
I wouldn't be surprised either. IE6 still makes a dent in the browser usage statistics and it's mostly because it's still used on old computers in the developing world.
I just think it's ironic that there's IE adverts all over MacRumors when a) it's a Mac site and b) we're all sitting here slagging off IE!
You think Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore are developing countries?
No, but if those countries contribute to IE6 showing up in usage stats then that's just sad
Did you mean SPAYED?
And that's what I said in My Post #81![]()
oops.
Serious ?

Internet Explorer strikes again!
I wouldn't dare answer affirmatively to the first, but I wouldn't be surprised if the first happened. If you want to live in society, you have to somewhat follow its rules, written and unwritten.Kind of like when a woman dresses provocatively she deserves to be raped? Or when you leave the front door unlocked you deserve to have your family murdered?
Indeed it does. There is a reason why I prefer the security and robustness of *NIX systems (like OSX). According to Digital Trends "Windows which is the absolute king of malware."
Note: Not my words, just pointing out what Digital Trends claims.
Better it be IE than Safari, the least secure browser;

5 second hack? That's pretty embarrassing.
