    Hi

Have read some things on this but want to be sure before I buy.

What controllers are people using to play FPSs on their Mac ?

What make and what is required adatper wise and driver wise to make them work
    would be good also.

Also what games they work with ?

    Many thanks for reading.

FPS, and a computer, I use the keyboard/mouse, no extra driver, works with all games.

Probably because most people play FPS with their keyboard/mouse, regardless of Mac or PC play.

With that said and out of the way... Any of the logitech controllers will probably do. I still have an old corded rumblepad that's close to 8 years old and it still works without having to install any software.

I also have a corded XBox 360 Controller for Windows that works better in windows than it does with the Mac. On, both, the Mac and PC side, it requires software to be installed. For most games it works fine, but it can't hold a consistent center worth a squat for things like x-plane.

That's my experience with two controllers. I'm sure a controller is fine on consoles, because everyone else you play against has to use them, too. However, I'm not sure making the choice for a controller over a keyboard/mouse is the best one for computer gaming platforms when you can have more than two fingers and two thumbs available for button mashing and a more precise pointer device for aiming.

I would say your next step should be to look online and see if anyone has had any deal-breaking complaints with it.

That's my typical product research routine, anyways. Narrow down the selection and then search out the ugly. People hardly talk about things that work like they're supposed to, but everyone and their brother will post all over the internet when things don't work right.

    interesting thread.

one of the reasons why i dont play console fps is that most lack keyboard/mouse support. a kb/m gives you too many options whereas a controller hits its limits sooner. less buttons = less things that can be assigned.
