Umm... they have a nasty habit of breeding and raising a few dozen kids each before they die...

Yea you would think but I Have not heard them scampering around up there in a long time.

At home we get squirrels rolling nuts around in the ceilings and walls...sometimes I'll wake up and hear something roll from one corner of the ceiling to the other and then something scrabble down the wall. I grew up with it so it really doesn't bother me....just an old house.

Nothing like that happens in the dorms at school...but apparently in the '70s someone ran a massive, automated ganja farm in the sealed off attic of one of the dorms. Automatic grow lights and sprinklers as well :p Wonder what that must have sounded like to the people below.

iGary, I think you need to move. You have had so many problems with your neighbors and creatures living in your building... it doesnt have to be like this.

Also, can I have the name and address of the building just to make sure that I never move in there. :p

Well, the trapper dude™ came yesterday and he never even came in the house. I heard him up walking around the roof, then I saw him climb up with two two traps.

Last night the thing scratched fo about ten minutes, and then nothing.

There must have been a hole in the roof or something where the thing was coming in and out of that the guy saw. I plan to go down nd talk to him today and see if he got anyting and how it got in.

We are looking forward to getting out of here - I think we are going to find a condo somehwere.

Akk! Finally a chance to ask a question I've been trying to work out for years...

What is a condo? Isn't it the same as a flat or apartment?

anywho. Some years ago me and my aunt and uncle went up to the Isle of Mull for a weekend holiday. I had this wonderful bedroom in the top corner of this huge cottage. the room was huge too, had about 3 beds, massive window. it was just altogether spooky. One night I was constantly being awoken by a very beautiful red squirrel, scratching away like. Then then next night an owl spent a few hours doing his call thing.
Natures a bit of alright.

Yes - except that you own a condo, whereas, here, you rent an apartment. Often, apartment complexes turn into condos when the individual units are sold.

Short for condominium.

Basically it is an apartment that you own, but they are generally (generally) nicer than an apartment and bigger.

That and you usually have to pay condo fees, which pay for the upkeep of the grounds, water, sewer, etc.

So you get to own it and still pay rent, in effect. ;)

Actually, it's a nice arrangement, allowing tax benefits and property ownership while still alleviating the chores outside.

Well Trapper Dude™ just came by again, and there was nothing in the traps, although we had NO critter in the walls last night. He said he was soing to put tape up in some areas to see if he could get some fur to identify what it is...

Hopefully the effer is just gone.

The bitch™ must have written him a letter too.

LOL!!

"You must immediately vacate the attic upon receipt of this letter. I will be inspecting the attic on 3/02/06 to make sure you have complied with this letter."

Could this be the new frontier in law? Inter Species Law ??:D Maybe a new court made up of humans and rats will judge the critter and award damages to you....

Well, well, one of the traps just went off on the roof.

I feel bad for whetever is in it. :(

Now you feel bad for it... after all this time of calling it such names....

Now I am pissed. The thing is over the shock of being trapped and is now up there working for his life to get out - and it sounds like ten kids up there dancing around.

****!! Another night of ear plugs and lost sleep.

Maybe you could convince management to reimburse you for a hotel??

If it makes you feel any better, I've been waking up for some unknown reason every night around 2-3 AM. Maybe I'm having sympathy pains for you.

They are sending a "trapper" tomorrow.

And yeah, we're out of here. It's a shame, because honestly, they are nice units.
Firstly it's probably mice, not rats.

Secondly, they're probably not going to trap it. Instead, they'll give it some crazy poison that they eat that makes their body disintegrate and turn into dust. Nothing is worse than a mouse dying inside your walls.

No, it's not a rat or a mouse - whatever it is is big, and it's trying like hell to get out of that trap on the roof right now.

I would have never guessed thet this thing was coming and going - I thought it was trapped in the attic, but evidently, it was using our attic as its little pimp palace, because its up in the trap MAKING AN EFFING RACKET.
