I've just moved across to Final Cut. How can you change the frame size of your files. Currently a few clips are 720x480 and I need them to be 720x586 (or is it 526?) anyway, when I was working in Prem Pro I'd just go into motion and zoom in a bit, this resulted in loss of quality but it did the job and wasn't to noticable. I'm sure there is a way to do this in FCP?

You need to set your Sequence setting to the resolution you want...usually Sequence -> Settings, then select a preset or create your own. Then stretch the video by turning on the "Image and Wireframe" option in the Canvas or by double clicking on the clip and adjusting the scale numerically in the Motion tab.

thanks for that, worked a treat. my settings where sweet, it was just some files that were given to me where the wrong frame size.

thanks again!
