Way more personality than Apple's decade+ of aluminum mini PCs IMO.
PC vs. Mac, yes, PC vs. PC, nope, there are imo so many other options that have more personality. IT seems the "customizableness of the front feels forced, that is the internals of the PC are not really customizable, so they tried to make the case.

Soldered RAM is a bit of a tradeoff here to feed the beast of an iGPU
I understand the tradeoffs and decisions, my point is more philosphical in that a company that strove to make computers (specifically laptops) user upgradeable, and customizable. released a desktop that is even less customizable then any normal desktop PC.

Here's Luke's take on this, and I actually liked how he put together his review a he compared it against the mini and studio. Surprisingly, though it does edge out the studio in a number of benchmarks. He touched upon the issue I mentioned, its really odd for a company that has embraced radical modularity (his words)

Framework delays Laptop 13 Pro shipments by a month
Framework is delaying the launch of its flagship Laptop 13 Pro by a month to address manufacturing issues. The company explained to pre-order customers it had found issues with the haptic touchpad and custom display and halted the start of mass production to fix them.

Ouch, that hurts, though at least they didn't send the first set of units to pre-order customers. A month shouldn't be too bad, though I suspect these customers have already been waiting for a while.

This is why I'll wait until next year before I pick one up, I'm always uncomfortable with buying the first batch of anything new.

Yea. for sure. It looks like a neat setup, but I think I will still stick to the major brands.
Framework was started by a certain type of tech enthusiast for certain types of tech enthusiasts. If you're big on open source and right to repair they're your folks, if you're looking to eek every ounce of performance out of the system or have a desire to have the best screen, that's not their thing.

I like to module concept down to fact that I can buy an ARM or RISC V mother board for it, I think owning one will be great fun. I originally was going to buy a Tuxedo laptop but with this new pro I'll go that route after the price of all things computer lands back in reality
