But wouldn't that have been in their plan from the beginning?
Apple would have known there would always be some people on a trial at any given time... and those people would not be contributing revenue during their trials.
But there would also be paying users who are contributing revenue.
I dunno... I still think Apple designed Apple Music to be profitable.
It would shock me to learn that Apple built a service capable of bringing in $100 million a month... but it actually cost $150 million a month to run. That doesn't seem like a business Apple would want to be in at all.
But stranger things have happened.
